Hao Wu, Chenxu Zhou, Xiangning Wen, and Ming Wang of our group completed their thesis defense on May 23rd, 2021. Professor Xinhua Wan from Peking University, Professor Wenbing Hu from Nanjing University, Professor Zhongzhen Yu from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Baohua Guo from Tsinghua University, Professor Jinyong Dong, Hongxia Guo, and Mingshu Yang, from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences participated as judges in Hao Wu and Chenxu Zhou’s dissertation. Professor Erqiang Chen from Peking University, Professor Wenbing Hu from Nanjing University, Professor Shouke Yan from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Mingshu Yang and Ruigang Liu from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences participated as judges in Xiangning Wen and Ming Wang’s dissertation.

 

Four students presented their research systematically and clearly. Hao Wu’s research focused on the microstructure and properties of high-performance polypropylene under external field. Chenxu Zhou reported the research on structure-property relationship and performance enhancement of long-chain polyamides. Xiangning Wen investigated the interfacial effects on the crystallization behavior of polymer nanocomposites. Ming Wang studied the self-nucleation effect and physical aging of polymers confined in nanopores. The judges gave high praise to the research work of the four students, and the question-answer session was a lively discussion. Finally, the defense committee unanimously passed the defense of the four students' theses by secret ballot. They also recommended the awarding of Ph.D. degree to Hao Wu, Chenxu Zhou, and Xianning Wen and Master's degree to Ming Wang.
