Kick-off Meeting of the Interdisciplinary Innovation Project “Processing and Performance Mediation of Polymer Materials”

The kick-off meeting of the interdisciplinary innovation project of CAS entitled “Processing and Performance Mediation of Polymer Materials” was held at ICCAS on February 10, 2018. 23 participants attended the meeting, including Prof. Wenbing Hu (Nanjing University), Prof. Zhongming Li and Prof. Jiazhuang Xu (Sichuan University), Prof. Wei Yu (Shanghai Jiao Tong University), Prof. Xiuqin Zhang (Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology), Mr. Bing Yi (deputy director of the personnel department), Prof. Dujin Wang, Prof. Xia Dong, Prof. Ying Zhao and Mrs. Xuexin Liu (senior technician) (ICCAS).

Bing Yi introduced the management, the use of funds and precautions of the project. Dujin Wang first thanked the efforts and contribution of the collaborators during proposal writing. He introduced the scientific goals of the project and recent research advances of his group. Subsequently, Wenbing Hu, Zhongming Li, Wei Yu, Xia Dong, Jiazhuang Xu, gave talks on the project related topics.

The four research teams involving in the project introduced their research directions and equipment. Free discussions and exchanges were conducted between the participants focusing on specific topics and the implementation of the project.

The meeting enhanced the ties between different groups working in closely related fields. Especially, the exchanges among postgraduates, postdoctoral fellows, and young staffs created an atmosphere of scientific cooperation between them on questions of mutual interest in a win-win manner in future. This project also targets to establish a world-leading polymer material and processing team.

The next meeting is scheduled to be held at Nanjing University by the end of 2018.
